This guide is divided up into five different sites, with a map of each area and the key species you may find there [see opposite for visual aid].

On each area page there is a rough outline of some recommended routes around the area with detail on the distance and any notes about the type of area you will be visiting, There are also some examples of the types of facilities in the area such as public transport, access and refreshments.

You will also find information on other species that you can see on the Island as well as other places you can visit. This will enable you to find out where a particular species is, or what species you are likely to find at a particular location.

Below you will find an outline of the Countryside Code. This is a list of simple courtesies that will allow you, and others after you, to enjoy the countryside without damaging it.

• Be safe - plan ahead and follow any signs.
• Leave gates and property as you find them.
• Protect plants animals, and take your litter home.
• Keep dogs under close control.
• Consider other people.
